You are special, and because of it, you make me feel special.
It might seem to you like I’ve been neglectful of my Gunmetal Geisha duties, but it’s actually the opposite.
On Tuesday, I posted my first article on Long Awkward Pause.
The day after that, I got my nerve together to submit my first piece to the Huffington Post. Today it’s on their front page.
So what I want to say to you, and all my friends who have shown me constant support, is thank you. You, the person who clicked on this post and are reading these words: you are special, and because of it, you make me feel special.
The two articles have as little in common as possible, but I’m proud of both for different reasons.
I can’t decide if the Long Awkward Pause piece is satirical instruction or instructional satire, but maybe you can. It’s called Tinder Swiping: The DOs and DON’Ts.
The Huffington Post piece is called What It Was Like to Be an Iranian-American Woman in NYC on 9/11.
I will, of course, be back here soon to tell you about everything I’ve been promising. In the meantime, you can always sign up for emails about new posts.
